As in previous years, Revered Swami Sarvadevananda, Minister-in-Charge of Vedanta Society of Southern California, and the Spiritual Guide of Ramakrishna Vedanta Ashrama Pittsburgh (RVAP), has asked us to join other centers to participate in the reading of the Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda on Memorial Day (May 25, 2025)

This year’s reading assignments for RVAP are given here. Please volunteer to read one or more of the selections assigned in the list, and put your name in the space provided.

Please find a pdf copy, with page numbers, of the Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda here.

Swami Sarvadevananda’s Message:

My best wishes to all the devotees of the Center.

As in past years, on the occasion of Memorial Day and as part of our Retreat Day, we shall jointly read the Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda.

Sri Ramakrishna said that it is beneficial to go into seclusion and spend time thinking of God. Reading Swami Vivekananda is itself a spiritual feast. The spirit of Swamiji can be felt through his powerful words, now compiled in the nine volumes of the Complete Works. Saturating our minds with these noble and highly elevating thoughts can help transform our lives. This underscores the importance of reading Swami Vivekananda.

Please find:

  1. The Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda (link to a PDF copy)

  2. A soft copy of the reading list according to the pages. Please assign one or more reading of around 20 pages to each devotee. Each serial number contains the beginning page with the starting word, and the end page with the ending word.

Please call me for your center’s assignment.

May the blessings of Swamiji be upon all of us.

Yours in Swamiji,

Sarvadevananda
